April Street

covered canvas
twisted
draped
like flesh over bone

“The most compelling aspect of April’s work is that it’s fraught with high-stakes emotion. Her palette and draping technique reference the body and bring a physical tension to the work while simultaneously eliciting raw-edged feelings; a secret ache, anxiety, or awe comes creeping in and catches you off guard.” – via In The Make

This piece is my poem to new york city. I wanted to bring a childhood innocence to the streets, through a character whose own light and wonder effects the world around her. I’m always interested in an atmosphere where dreams and reality mingle on equal terms._Ryan McGinley (director)

bloodserch:

Calavera con diamantes - Damon Hirst . 8.000 brillantes incrustados  en craneo humano. Lo más gracioso del asunto es que fue una joyería londinense quien se encargó de insertar cada pieza en su sitio. Se vendió por 74 millones de euros.
